  Getting Oxfordshire Online
This year, we are working with Oxfordshire Community Foundation, Bicester Green and SOFEA Didcot to deliver ‘Getting Oxfordshire Online’, a pilot project designed to tackle digital exclusion, isolation and poor wellbeing across the county, through providing a sustainable, long-term solution to the digital divide.
This project will see Aspire and the other community hubs refurbish laptops and other devices donated by the public and organisations in Oxfordshire, and redistribute them to those who find themselves excluded. Aspire is also giving digital skills training to enable recipients to use these devices safely and effectively.
  “The internet
access Aspire has provided
means my goal of starting full-time adult education is still achievable, as
I have no Wi-Fi. I would normally use the library to complete coursework, but this was no longer an option during the pandemic. This is just one of the many ways that Aspire has supported me throughout my recovery. It’s not just the internet, it’s the understanding, care, commitment and dedication, believing in and reminding me that
my dreams are still achievable”.
